Drake asked:
As with this cleveland school shooting case people once again start blaming hip hop music. I am not condoning much of the violence and misogamy that hip hop music has, but just like the Colombine shooters this kid from cleveland was not into the Hip hop culuture he was a white kid that was more into the Marylin manson and general goth scene.
This is John Gibson making that accusation

I’m serious! I am in graduate school, and I am writing a paper for a linguistics class on the corrupting influences of “pop culture” on Standard English. I am not very familiar with hip-hop lyrics, and need specific examples of very bad English to use in my paper.
“Old Hippy Dude” is a moniker for an alternate internet personality. Although I’m old enough to be a hippy, I’m really a graduate student nerd who is fascinated by language.

So I’m a coach for a Poms Squad and we’re trying to cut the music for this coming season, and we’re kinda stuck.
I’m looking for upbeat, really fun hip hop songs to use.
We have music cutting software, and we have two groups of girls to cut for.
In the end we need a two minute routine, possibly two, and one three minute routine.
Any suggestion is welcome.

I’m digging some of these rock/acoustic/folk/other covers of rap and hip-hop songs. If you know of some other good ones, recommend away!!!
The ones I already have…
Framing Hanley “Lollipop” (Lil Wayne cover)
Ben Folds “Bitches Ain’t Shit” (Dr. Dre cover)
Obadiah Parker “Hey Ya” (Outkast cover)
